National Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Omelet Day

July 9 is annually observed as “Don’t put all your eggs in one omelet day.”

The meaning of this phrase is that you shouldn’t put all your efforts and resources into one thing, as you could lose it all and have nothing left.

Take the gambler who places one bet with all his money, loses, then has no money left. Or, you make an omelet with all your eggs, but drop it on the floor before you can eat it. If you’d only used half the eggs, you could make another omelet.

Focusing on one thing is fine, but do you really want to focus only on one thing forever? I don’t! This day serves as a reminder to focus on multiple interests. So, live life to the fullest!
