My jewelry used to be hidden away in my dresser. I used stackable jewelry trays, which I found useful. But I often forgot I had certain pieces because they were hidden from my eyes.
To display my earrings, I purchased two louvered exterior shutters. I flipped the shutters and secured them to the wall. I bought black velvet plastic display cards (also called earring cards) from Amazon, and now I can see all my earrings at a glance. I have also sorted my earrings by color. Be sure NOT to hang the shutters in a high traffic area, otherwise you may find yourself picking up earring cards from the floor.
To display my necklaces, I purchased a large corkboard and push pins (with a head so the chain can hang from the pin). I have separated the silver and gold necklaces and hang from shortest to longest.
