Shadow’s Iowa Vacation

For the last nine years, Mom and I have visited family in Iowa to celebrate Grandma’s birthday. This was the first year without Grandma, and the first time I have ever seen snow in Iowa in April. And not just one snowstorm, but two! Yikes, it was cold! Luckily, Mom packed my favorite red winter coat.

This year Mom and I stayed at Aunt Dona’s house. Besides napping in my bed or cuddling next to Mom while she worked on her seventh book, Uncle Gary’s office (behind his chair) and the living room rug (by the bookcase) were my two favorite spots to nap.

On the long drive, I hung out in my car seat and helped Mom navigate. I’m able to look out the window and see the sights along the way. Plus, it’s easy for Mom to feed me treats—not even an arm’s length away.

Thanks Aunt Dona and Uncle Gary for taking such good care of me during my visit.
