Toy Organization

If you have kids or grandkids, you know that no matter how hard you try, their toys end up scattered all over the house. Do you wish you had a way to keep the toys organized? My niece, Natalie, developed an organizing technique that I want to share with you.

Natalie has three children (5, 3, and 4 months). She took plastic storage bins (you’ll need ones with lids), and divided the toys among the bins. Legos in one bin, toy cars in another, army men in another, and so on. Each bin is clearly labeled. One bin is labeled “pickled herring” for the miscellaneous toys that can’t be categorized in any other bin.

The kids can play with one or two bins at a time, and have to put the bins back before they are allowed to play with another bin.

If you have an organizing tip for toys, I’d love to hear from you.
