7 Everyday Solutions

Give these hacks and tricks a try. They might be helpful in numerous situations you are experiencing.

  1. Restore shine to chrome surfaces. Pour club soda on a clean washcloth and use it to wipe down chrome surfaces. The carbonated molecules in the soda fizz away grime without leaving spots.
  2. Coffee mug stains. If your favorite coffee mug ends up with a brown tinge, pour club soda in the mug and let sit overnight. The acids in the soda will eat away the stain. Rinse the mug in the morning.
  3. Fluffier pancakes. Replace the milk in your favorite pancake mix with club soda. The bubbles will aerate the batter, resulting in fluffier pancakes.
  4. Get rid of dry skin. Combine 1 tablespoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Massage into skin, then rinse with warm water. The abrasive particles will remove dry skin cells for a healthy glow.
  5. Keep cookies from spreading. Cutout cookies often spread rather than holding their shape. Next time roll out the dough onto wax paper, then place in the freezer for ten minutes before cutting into shapes.
  6. Get a rusty screw to turn. If you have a rusty screw and it won’t budge, pour club soda on the screw and let sit for five minutes then try again with a screwdriver. Carbon dioxide reacts with rust to bubble it away so you can easily turn the screw.
  7. Free up pantry space. Place a few stick-on hooks on your pantry walls. With a binder clip, clip seasoning packets together and hang from hooks.
