National Grouch Day

There is a day for everything! On October 15th we celebrate National Grouch Day.

I’m sure we all know a person or two that would be considered a grouch. They might be a family member, a co‑worker, or a checker at your nearby grocery store.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a grouch is described as:

  • a person who complains frequently or constantly
  • a habitually irritable or complaining person

A grouch’s mission in life is to be as miserable and grouchy as possible, and pass that feeling on to everyone else.

It may seem that a grouch is only happy (although they would never admit it) when others are unhappy and grouchy. It is then that they feel comfortable with having others share their grumpy, cantankerous, surly world.
