Ready everyone? Sing along…Here I come to save the day!

According to my mom, it’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween. And once she buys the costume, out comes the camera. I haven’t always been pleased with my costumes (tiger, bumble bee, pirate, pumpkin, Count Dracula, hot dog, devil, skeleton) because I’ve been called “cute.” No masculine dog wants to be called cute. This year, I’m the dashing super hero—Super Shadow! Ready to protect my loved ones.

If you don’t remember, or maybe you’ve never seen him, but Mighty Mouse is famous for singing Here I come to save the day! when flying into action. Did you know the animated character made his first appearance in 1942 and was originally named Super Mouse? Creator, Paul Terry, changed his name in 1944. Mighty Mouse appeared in 80 films before making his last appearance in 1961.

I’ll be helping Mom hand out treats on Halloween. Truthfully, I think kids stop by our house just to see me—not for the candy.
