Organize Your Vehicle's Trunk

Organize Your Vehicle’s Trunk

Here are a few solutions to keep the trunk of your vehicle organized.

Find a container for all the items you want to keep in the trunk—jumper cables, blanket, bungee cords, gloves, first aid kit, screwdriver, mini air compressor, flashlight. The container can be a box, plastic container, or a fabric bin. To make sure the container doesn’t slide around in the back of the car, buy some sticky back Velcro. Put a strip or two on the bottom of the container and the other side of the Velcro on the trunk carpet. No more sliding around in the trunk!

Keep an empty gym bag in your trunk. On days when you go shopping, put small items in the bag without having to worry about them sliding around in the trunk. At the end of your shopping day, grab the gym bag and take inside to empty. Once you’ve emptied the bag, return it to the trunk for your next shopping excursion.

I also keep reusable cloth bags in the trunk in case I unexpectedly stop at the grocery store. I have an endless supply of plastic bags—plus I’m helping the environment.

What items do you keep in your trunk for emergencies?
