My sister, Dona, made this recipe for me years ago. The moment I tasted the combination of sausage, egg, hash browns, and cheese inside a delicious crust, I knew I had to have the recipe.
This recipe is great to make for either breakfast or dinner. I love breakfast-type food for my evening meal. Reminds me of growing up and having pancakes for dinner. Comfy and cozy.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound Pork Sausage
- 1 tube (8 oz.) Crescent Rolls
- 1 cup cooked, shredded Hash Browns
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 5 Eggs
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese
Directions
- In a skillet, cook and crumble the sausage until browned. Drain.
- Separate crescent roll dough and place in an ungreased 13 x 9 baking dish. Seal perforations.
- Spoon sausage over crust. Top with potatoes and cheddar cheese.
- In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper; pour evenly over the cheese.
- Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
If by chance you have leftovers, slice a piece and warm in the microwave or toaster oven.
